Cannot Access a Creo/Simulate (MECHANICA) license!!

I have installed two Windows 7 64bit machines with Wildfire 5 ( also tried 4) pointing to the same license server with a current MECHANICA license. One machine works in both standalone and integrated mode and the other will not. Ideas?

Here is the solution (THANKS BRUCE ROWITS!):

Error "Unable to get required Mechanica license please contact your sales rep" when accessing Mechanica as application in Pro/ENGINEER
Description Error "Unable to get required Mechanica license, please contact your sales rep" when accessing Mechanica as application.
Applies To Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0

Creo Elements/Pro 5.0
Cause Error may prompt due to multiple reasons, as:

  • No Mechanica licenses available in license file.

  • Available licenses for Mechanica consumed by other users or sessions.

  • Mechanica licenses in licenses file are as locked licenses.
  • Application is not configured correctly with Mechanica licenses.
    Resolution Resolution based on possible reason, as:

  • Contact Sales representative or PTC License Management to have Mechanica license.
  • Check availability of Mechanica licenses and close existing session of application to release the licenses.

  • Contact PTC License Management to convert Mechanica license as floating license.
  • Re-Configure the application correctly referring below mentioned steps,

  • Delete feature.dat from <Load Point>\mech\text\licensing\mech.
  • Reconfigure Pro/ENGINEER by running ptcsetup.bat available at <Load Point>\bin.

  • Check "Pro/ENGINEER Mechanica License Configuration" under "Optional Configuration Steps".

  • Finish reconfiguration.
