Creo Parametric Excel analysis feature not staying associated with the Excel spreadsheet

I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and Datecode M140

Dear Creo community,

I am having issues with the Creo Parametric Excel analysis feature not staying associated with the Excel spreadsheet. It will allow me to open the spreadsheet, associate cells with dimensions and parameters, and close the spreadsheet. However, when I reopen the excel analysis feature in my feature tree, all of the information about the spreadsheet and associated dimensions are gone. Why does the link between Creo and Excel get lost? How can I prevent this?

Best regards,

Gordy

There are requirements for the Excel files used in this context with regard to file locations. Have you read this information and applied it in your environment? Notably the configuration option to specify the path for an analysis directory.

When you save an Excel analysis or create an Excel Analysis feature, the system saves the complete path to the .xls file. When you retrieve an Excel analysis or when an Excel Analysis feature is regenerated, the system searches for the .xls file in these locations in the following order:
The original location of the file from which it was selected for the analysis
The current working directory
The directory specified by the configuration option excel_analysis_directory.

Thank you for getting back to me. I have tried adding the excel_analysis_directory to my config.pro file as suggested here:

Excel-Analysis loses Excel-spreadsheets and create... - PTC Community

But it didn't connect the analysis feature to the Excel spreadsheet in that directory. I also checked to make sure the file name is per Creo naming standards.

Are there other things that might cause this issue?

Also, I tried creating a new excel analysis feature to see if it was just that feature. I can create the feature and it stays linked to the excel spreadsheet, but it doesn't update the spreadsheet with the values in the dimensions or parameters in the model.
