I don't know anything about automation studio but on occasion, one software will overwrite a file that another one uses. You could try re-installing Creo 4 to determine if that solves the issue.

We determined there was a corrupted config.pro file stored locally in the start up directory. A reinstall resolved the issue. Thank you!
If it happens again, another thing to look for is a corrupt customized UI file in the startup diectory. I had one of those this week out of nowhere and the user didn't remember creating it.
