Desktop integration in Windchill 10.1 M040, Windows 7, Internet explorer 10 and in combination with

Windchill users,
We are on Windchill 10.1 M040 use Windows 7, Internet Explorer 10 and Microsoft Office 2010 in combination with RES workspace manager.

We find that desktop integration is not working properly; one user(the first) can work but then the other 39 users working on the same server cannot work with DTI!
Solutions?
Han

Hi,

Sounds like RES Workspace is a thin client manager, deploying a common desktop environment to all users?

If so, your experience is correct. Windchill Desktop Integration does not support distributed thin clients or a multi-user environment like Windows Server or CITRIX. It is currently designed to be installed on a single machine, used by a single user and connected to a single Windchill server.

Distributed thin clients would require the execution of multiple WtWindows.exe processes all connected to unique users with a unique communication path to the Windchill server. PTC is actively investigating this type of environment, but I have no conclusive results to share at this time.

There are a number of discussions on this Topic in the PTC WIndchill Community if you would like to participate.

If you'e like to know more about what PTC is working or discuss this situation in more detail, don't hesitate to contact me directly.
