Drawings for some parts can not be found in Creo Parametric despite they are with status “released” in Windchill.
A little explanation of what and how you are trying to find a drawing.
There is no linkage between a part file and a drawing maintained in the files themselves.
Windchill knows of the relationship and maintains it in the database.
From Creo with an open part file, there is no command to open the related drawing.
Hey Ben, thanks for the reply. Sorry I should have stated that I'm not the one using it, I'm the on-site IT support for the company. I have no experience with Creo and this is the first time I've had to support it. The user attached 2 pics if this helps. Please let me know if anything else is needed from me. I appreciate your help.
Did the user add the drawing to their workspace prior to trying to open it? It's shown in the search window and as if it was keyed in to the file open window (this should work but...) they didn't show it in the current workspace.
Does the user have privilege's to open/view that file?
Not too much info to go on so that's my initial guesses.
Does the user have download rights to released objects in that context?
Is the user's workspace linked to the proper context for that file? This should not matter, but I have had this issue with some files and I am the system admin.
Have the user download the drawing file to their active workspace and then open it and see if that works.
