Duel Quad Cores or Single Six Core?

I need some advise, We are purchasing new computers and don't know if we should buy computers with quad core duel processors or just single six core processors. The cost is about the same????? Please any opinions....

Thank you

Pro/E largely only uses one core at a time, so unless you're doing a lot
of multitasking, get the fastest processor speed.

Thank you for your feadback

Is this for a client or Windchill Server. Windchill Server higher number of multi-core and RAM channel speed PC3 is better andmuch betterperformace so that transactions and process are kept within the same CPU socket and ram channel. Once it leaves the the socket, the information is now processed at bus speed. You can run Windchill 2 sockets with 16 to 32 cores with 8+ foreground and 4 background methodservers and avoid clustering if apache is not a bottleneck. Make sure you have allocated from Xms768m to Xmx6144 (large CAD assemblies over 2000 components) per method server.

As for ProE client, ProE only uses 1 core, so having the fastest CPU with a dual or quad is fine.
