Installing and Running CoCreate

To the Forum, I did not get a proxy window as mentioned in this email from Mara Lucic at the bottom of this page. I do have a constant internet connection through Cable Modem at home. I had downloaded the entire 117mb software for CoCreate Modeling PE, and installed it on my computer. I have met or exceeded all the necessary system requirements, and yet this issue with the license prevents me from starting the software. This is the free download, with the 60 part minimum for assemblies. I am including an image of the error I received. Thanks and Please help, John Bragg -- email: - +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ From: John Bragg [mailto:-] Sent: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 8:50 AM To: PTC Web Account Support Cc: John Bragg Subject: No Valid License for CoCreate Modeling Personal Edition Dear Sirs, I installed CoCreate Modeling Personal Edition, and tried to start it up, but I got a "no valid license" error when I started it up. Let me know if there is a license file that I need to install. I am excited to try out this sofware. Please let me know how to resolve this. Thanks, ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dear Bragg, thank you for downloading CoCreate Modeling Personal Edition. The key for manual activation of CoCreate Modeling PE is generated automatically when you close the window for proxy-configuration a couple of times, even if you do not write anything in there. A new window should open up, in which you can click on "request manual activation key", and then a new browser should open up, in which your activation key is displayed. However, manual activation of our free software OneSpace Modeling Personal Edition always requires an active internet connection. Without it you will not be able to activate the program. If the computer on which you have installed Modeling PE does not have an internet connection at least every 72 hours you will not be able to start Modeling PE on that specific computer. You can find more information on troubleshooting and a lot more in our User Forum which you can access via your Modeling PE account. In the Forum, just chose the English Forum, section "Troubleshooting Installation and activation" and the thread "Troubleshooting Guides for Installing and Activating OneSpace Modeling PE". If you're still lacking the desired information I would like to encourage you to post it in the Forum, and you should receive an answer by the moderators within a short time. The best resources for this can indeed be found in the Modeling PE user forum. In particular, the troubleshooting guides at http://apps.cocreate.com/OneSpaceModelingPE/Secure/Forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=116&posts=1&start=1 are hopefully helpful. There is one "popular" issue which isn't mentioned in the troubleshooting guides yet, which is Spyware Doctor. If you have this software installed on your system, you will unfortunately have to remove it before running CoCreate Modeling PE. Hope this helps, Claus

Thanks Guys, I do have Spyware Doctor. I disabled SW Doc. and CoCreate did fire up, after I logged on. I am Soooo excited to be able to use this software. I had been using another software for Mechanical Design for the last ten years, but was laid off from my job last November. Your personal edition will allow me to keep up my skill set, while learning your software. I may be using CoCreate professionally in the not too distant future, when I can find a job. Thanks Again, I'm looking forward to learning CoCreate. John Bragg

John, congratulations! I suggest you to start with introduction webinars. They are helpful. Cheers.

Hello, I don't have Spyware Doctor so, it must be something else. I believe that something is wrong with CoCreate's servers since the site http://apps.cocreate.com is unresponsive. So, I'm still without PE running. Steve

Claus, The httpS site for Amazon works just fine in both FireFox and IE but, the httpS site for CoCreate doesn't. So that leads me to believe that its still an issue with CoCreate's site. I even disabled all the security features in IE to see if that was the issue. I thank you again for trying to help. Steve

Steve, was it you who I discussed this with in the CoCreate International forum, over at http://cocreateusers.org/forum/showthread.php?p=21436#post21436 ?

Clause, Yep, that's me. Sorry for cross posting its just that it looked like I might get a quicker response on the CoCreate User Forum based on the higher traffic that site receives. Thanks, Steve

Hi I've got the same problem, has anyone found the fix for this? I'm using win 7rc so that may be the problem but I'd have thought it should be ok if it works on vista. Steve

I don't know if there are activation problems specific to Windows 7, but there is currently a discussion on Windows 7 in the Modeling PE user forum at http://apps.cocreate.com/OneSpaceModelingPE/Secure/Forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=555
