I recently got a new laptop. The IT folks had not installed the Nvida graphics driver on it. I didn't realize that when I ran Olaf's benchmark the first time.
No graphic driver:
Total = 1170 seconds
CPU Related tasks (CP) = 808 seconds
Graphics Relatsed tasks (GR) = 353 seconds
DISK related tasks (DI) = 175 seconds
I then installed the latest graphics driver from Nvidia and picked the normal install.
Normal install of graphics driver including Nview: (Slower by 16 seconds)
Total = 1186 seconds
CPU Related tasks (CP) = 819 seconds
Graphics Relatsed tasks (GR) = 358 seconds
DISK related tasks (DI) = 182 seconds
Today I decided to remove Nview because in the past it's caused problems. (Faster by 13 seconds than no driver, faster by 29 seconds with nView)
Total = 1157 seconds
CPU Related tasks (CP) = 798 seconds
Graphics Relatsed tasks (GR) = 350 seconds
DISK related tasks (DI) = 174 seconds
Obviously Nview is something you don't want on your computer.
