After some searching and findingsome smart people who work with Linux and Solaris, it looks like PDMLINK 9.1 should run perfectly on AMD opteron systems running RH Linux 4.x. From PTC support, some individuals are running 9.1 on open RH 5.The Opteron with RH linux provides a high performance value based system from what I can see. Solaris 10 runs on Opteron as well, and feedback indicates that PTC is working on alternates to Aphelion.
Fromour cybersecurity standpoint, Linux or Solaris are regarded as the preferred OSs for servers.

We are looking at new hardware for a PDMLINK upgrade to 9.1 M020, and looking at Sun Sparc and Opteron x86 servers. From the PTC support website, it appears that LDAP (Aphelion) and Info Modeler are not supported on Solaris x86 or RHEL4 (AMD opteron based servers). We are currently running PDMLINK 8 on Solaris 9 Sparc.
Any thoughts or workarounds?
