This question is for those of you who are using Creo without any PDM software to help manage your files. How are you managing the versions that are created when you save your models? Do you use some type of software to purge these old files, or do you have to delete them manually? If you have to do it manually, how do you ensure that a user doesn't delete more than they should?
Thanks,
Rob
Solved! Go to Solution.
First, make sure that you have accounted for any revision history that you want to maintain. One way to do this is to save models with new file names such as "<PART NAME>_REV_X".
There are two ways to delete old file versions:
Occasionally, the Purge command of the system window fails because the PATH environment variable is not configured properly. For this, see CS36788: https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS36788.

Thanks Clint! I appreciate your reply.

Afternoon Clint,
Do you have to have no files open to be able to get to the Utilities > Open System Window menu?
It would nice to be able to clear up old versions while you have work open if possible.
Many thanks in advance,
Nic
In this thread, there is talk of Spekan purge utility. A lot of people that do not have PDM use this:
