I have crashed 3 times out of WF 5.0 today. I look in my std.out and my old friend is back!
" Exception - code was -1073741819"
I have got this message after crashes from releases of ProE back to before release 2000, on mulitple workstations that use different operating systems at different workplaces on different continents!
I know it has something to do with the graphics card but more than that, it is still a mystery to both me and apparently PTC.
Does anyone, anyone at all have any clue why this happens and how to stop it? You can google this line to look for a solution and find me asking the questions years back. You would think, after 5.0 released they would have this problem solved once and for all.
Hi Grahame,
Not sure if it is related but one of my users on WF5 M040 can get a reliable lockup = crash when trying to do certain actions while doing a drawing. He is on a Dell M6300 running Win XP64.
None of my other users on the same machines (same NVIDIA card and drivers) have the same isssue. I am on the same machine running M070 but using XP Pro (VPN issues) and do not see an issue.
Maybe a later cut of WF5 (becomes Creo/Elements Pro at M070) would help?
Regards, Brent Drysdale
In this case it was purging a file (delete old versions).
The answer I have been given for years is "new date code", new release. Sorry, bit grumpy right now. This ribbon is really pissing me off.
Ask Tech Support for the exit logger tool. It monitors all the clients and keeps track of all exit codes.
Has anyone been able to get the exit logger to work. I have spent 3 week trying to set it up and it still deosn't work correctly.
