Show Erase Config Option 180 in Creo

In Wildfire 4 we had the config option show_preview_default set to Keep.

The way this worked in WildFire 4 was you would select the items you wanted to keep. Nothing was preselected.

In Creo, "Keep" means that Show Erase preselects everything to keep, you have to select items to remove.

So that being the case we are setting show_preview_default to the default, which is remove.

David,

I agree on the Show Erase Config Option 180 flip in Creo 2 from WF4/WF5.
This was a lengthy discussion at the TC Meetings in January 2013 at PTC. I
forgot what they said was their reasoning. Sorry, I was so disappointed at
the meetings that I was actually doing work instead of listening.

There was probably a weasel-speak answer. I'd wager that reading between the lines it felt similar to, "we changed how to use measure because we felt like it".

That Show/Erase config change isn't the only thing causing frustration in the Show/Erase world. I've yet to have any user hear how Show/Erase works now and say "oh, what a great idea!" Instead, when I explain that they can Show a dimension, but if they then Erase it, they can't use Show to show it again, they have all looked at me questioningly. When I explain that now they have to go find the view in the drawing tree that contains the erased dimensions, expand the node, right-mouse-button, and unerase the dimensions in question, they look at me like my IQ dropped to a negative value. That's usually followed closely by Pro/Fanity, that module that comes free with every install.

Now I tell them just to delete shown dimensions. Even though you couldn't do so before.
