Swept surface:1.Section not remaining flat 2. Start/Stop inconsistancy

I'm following a coworker's technique for modeling a surface that rises and falls along a rectangular path. His worked successfully with extrude features that terminate on the surface and mine is having issues with those later features.

I isolated those surfaces in the attached part and am hoping that you can help with tips or techniques to correct two issues:

1. The section doesn't seem to remain constrained along the trajectory.

2. The start stop point, circled below, seems to show an inconsistancy that may be causing issues with the later features that fail to terminate to this surface.
