I'm newish to WF (using 3.0 for about 6 months). I cannot locate where ProE is saving the new browser favorites I add from the set working dir dialog box. I have several with the same name, due to our company standards in file management from project ot project. I used to find them added to my config.pro, and would add the descriptive field to the entry to rename them with the project title.
I also have several old ones that don't work, but I can't find them in a config file to remove them.
The actual favourites file is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\PTC\ProENGINEER\Wildfire\.wf\.Settings\web_favorites.xml where username is your login Ian Turner CAD Manager Flight Refuelling Ltd
You can edit them there, but if you want to know where they are actually going now, it's here: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\PTC\ProENGINEER\Wildfire\.wf\.Settings\web_favorites.xml You can open an XML file in a text editor, but I'm not sure if WF will 'see' the changes. I had issues copying the web_favorites.xml file from one PC to another. Just dropping the file in the right place didn't work. Pro|E didn't seem to 'see' it there until I added a new favorite. I'm not sure what we gained by PTC moving this information. When they were in the config.pro, they traveled with my from PC to PC in the office and I could add and remove global favorites for my users by adding or removing them in the company config.pro. Now I can do neither, but I got a pretty explorer-like interface for them in the navigation area.
I have a favorites question: I just installed WF2 to open client files and it cleared out my WF3 favorites! Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Every time I open WF2, the favorites are erased.
