Are long filenames finally allowed in Creo5 or did it get pushed back to Creo10?
With PTC only supporting Creo on Windows, maybe it is about time PTC utilized MFC calls for file operations and let the OS handle the filename length.
I just tried to open a 60 character filename in Creo4 and it does not even show up in the File Open dialog box. Once I shortened it to under 31 characters, it shows up.
I believe the current target is Creo 7.0, due out in March of 2020. It affects a lot more than just filenames, things like parameters, the model tree, external references, etc. The entire interface has to be adjusted to allow long filenames and special character support (spaces, etc.) It's not a small project.
