"none of the selected results windows can be shown"

WF3, M160

I've successfully run a Mechanica Structural analysis, but when I configure
a results window & hit "ok & show" I get the following error message:

"none of the selected result windows can be shown"

Can anyone tell me why I might be getting this error?

Thanks

Hello Lyle,

The times I have seen this message it related to memory issues. For instance, loading the results from your analysis may require more memory than can be allocated. Iused to have these issues when I was working onWindows 32 bit.

Somepossible solutions are:

1) Turn off continuous tone(ifchecked).

2) Turn off animation or reduce the numberof frames.

3)Restart ProE and try viewing the results again. Sometimes due to memory leaks ProE will retain some memory from prior actions. This additional memory allocation could make itssuch the entire results cannot be loaded into the allowable memory space remaining.

4) Review the resultson a 64 bit workstation.

5) If on Win XP 32 bit you can enable the 3GB switch bootup option. Just google around for this.

Hope these help,

Steve

Thanks to Stephen & Don for their responses (included below, as is the
original query).

The solution, for whatever reason, was simpler: I copied the analysis over
to a new one, and ran that, and everything was fine. Possibly just a
corrupt file somewhere.

I see these all the time and actually created an call to PTC. I was
told it was a "memory" thing, and that I could "help" the situation by
turning DOWN the "plotting grid" in the output tab of the analysis
definition. I didn't like turning down the plotting grid so MY solution
has always been to simply quit Pro/E and Mechanica, restart and go right
back into the specific analysis, which THEN displays just fine!!!.
VERY frustrating...

Thanks...
