How to create Shared Summary Field that i cann used in Test Suite Branch?

Hi every one,

How to creat Shared-Summary field that  i cann used in Test Suite Branch, i have now the following Shared Field:

• Shared Expected results
• Shared External ID
• Shared Text
• Shared Attachments

Hi,

you should not use the summary field for any kind of document node.

Summary is dedicated for items only.

Please use any other name and create the two fields you expect, for example

a) Title (of type FVA)

b) Shared Title (of type Short Text)

What i am wondering about is the "Branch". What do you mean by that exatly? Perhaps you ment "Node"?

Hi Volker ,

thank your very much for your replay.

If a test suite is branched, then for the included test case is set in the new suite of the Reference Mode "Reuse".
If you change the case in the new suite, this changes the mode to "Author", and that does not include the "Summary" field.

So,I want to add the "Summary" field also to the effect "Significant Edit Fields".

Hello Zeiad,

I cannot suggest that you use Summary on Node level, it's not best practice.

Summary is for plain items only.

As I understand you like to have a summary for the test case, then I suggest again "Title" or "Case Title" and then "Shared Title" or "Shared Case Title".

The title is linked to the case text and sumarizes what the test is about.

Thats why such a field has to be setup the same way as the Category/Shared Category or Text/Shared Text.

Then, you can add this field also as "significant edit".
