Mail trigger

Dear PTC-Community,

we have currently faced the problem with Mail-Trigger function implementation. We cannot find any proper solution on how to integrate the Mail-Trigger function into PTC.

Any advices would be much appreciated!

Best regards,

Daniel Remmers.

Thank you! The manual helped.

solution in short (out of my head):

Admin client node "Workflow & Documents" >> Triggers >> adapting js-file >> setting trigger rules

Admin client node "Configuration" >> mksis.mailserver >> entering the correct data of your companies mail server

we followed the steps as showed in the link above: Resolution You must have an SMTP server, OR an exchange server configured to act as a SMTP server Note: Not all exchange servers can be configured to act as a SMTP servers The mail server must permit emails to be sent from the Integrity server, so that one of the following is true (from most to least recommended): The user that Integrity uses to send emails exists on the mail server The mail server has the Integrity server white-listed The mail server allows anonymous resending To configure the mail server: Launch the Administration Client Navigate to Server > Configuration > Properties Edit the mksis.mailserver property set Hostname to the to the SMTP Server hostname or TCP/IP address set Port to the correct port If your mail server requires a valid email address for the From user, then: Navigate to Server > Workflows and Documents > Configuration > Properties Edit the mksis.im.notifierAddress property set the Value to a valid email Users will now receive email notifications for item creation and edit based on their configured notification settings and email address You can also configure the Integrity Server to send emails to the administrator when there are errors Navigate to Server > Configuration > Properties Edit the following properties: mksis.logging.email.from The from address for the server error emails You must set this if your SMTP server requires a valid email address for the From user mksis.logging.email.subject The subject of the server error emails mksis.logging.email.threshold Log messages at this level or above will be emailed to the users in the mksis.logging.email.to property Setting the threshold to any value other than FATAL is not recommended as the volume of email may be too high mksis.logging.email.to the list of email addresses, separated by commas, to set server error emails Changes to all properties except mksis.logging.email.threshold will take effect immediately

tried as you mentioned.

When we tried to enable SMTP for ILM, its not working

1) Admin client -> enabled mail server

2)Admin client -> configured notifier mail address

3) created notification rule for my usre id and its not sending.. getting  error as 'unauthenticated senders are not allowed"

Note: tested sendgrid functionality over command line from server with the same notifier user mail address.

We are using send grid and there is no option foungd in ILM to authenticate the send grid with username and password.. will be that the reason ?
