Is Monaco Editor available in ThingWorx

Is Monaco Editor is available in ThingWorx? Is there any Matric Document and extension file available for the Monaco? If not what are the other Editors that we can install for more user friendly to code in TWX which are supported.

Thanks.

Hello @LC_10152029

Hope you are doing good!

Pls keep in mind that this Monaco Editor is NOT officially supported by PTC. It may cause issues that can not be revertible. If you have some concerns pls feel free to report your issue to our Technical Support team.

Thanks

Hi @VladimirN,

I tried my importing the zip file from the above link releases.

Receiving the following error -  "Extension must have a metadata.xml file"

Can you please help on this issue.

Thanks.

Hi @LC_10152029

Any issues you encounter using that third party content should be reported in the GitHub Issues section of that project.

Considering this, please report this issue there: https://github.com/ptc-iot-sharing/MonacoEditorTWX/issues

I strongly suspect that you did not import the correct extension, as the release contains the metadata.xml file, but let's continue the discussion there.

You need to import one of the highlighted zips from the releases page https://github.com/ptc-iot-sharing/MonacoEditorTWX/releases :

I assume you tried with the sourcecode.zip file.

Edit: But you only need to import the extension if:

  • If you want to also use the MonacoEditor widget, to display code during mashup runtime, you will need to import the ThingWorx extension listed under Releases. It should be the one named MonacoScriptEditor-VERSION.zip.

See installation instructions https://github.com/ptc-iot-sharing/MonacoEditorTWX#installation .
