We are having Thingworx 8.5.1 installed with Installer. It needs to be upgraded to 9.3.x version.
There is an article saying "If you used the installer to install ThingWorx Foundation 8.5.3 or earlier, then manually upgraded to a later 8.5.x version, and are now preparing to upgrade to 9.x by running the ThingWorx Upgrade Ready Utility"
Solved! Go to Solution.
If your requirement is to upgrade to 9.3.x then why do you want to manually upgrade to 8.5.3 first?
If you installed 8.5.1 using installer then you can directly upgrade to 9.x using foundation installer only, I don't think you need to manually upgrade first to 8.5.3. See below screenshot

It's fine but, in this link https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx/platform/r9/en/index.html#page/ThingWorx/Help/Installation/UsingTheInstallerToUpgradeThingWorxFoundation.html# We found.
Hi @Sathishkumar_C.
I'm afraid you misinterpreted what it is saying. It's laying out the scenario that an 8.5 installation may have been manually upgraded at some point. 8.5 is an old, unsupported release, so there's a good chance it was upgraded even before 9.x was released. If that scenario applies to you, then it's saying you need to run the Upgrade Ready Utility.
If that scenario doesn't apply to you, then skip that section.
Regards.
