What is the best way to manage application keys for edge devices?

What is the best way to use application keys for an edge device without just keeping the same application key for the lifetime of the device. It doesn't seem secure to keep the same application key, but how would we go about renewing them on a regular basis without it being a manual process? Or, is creating a custom authenticator for edge devices the best way to go about it?

You can set the Application Keys to expire and then Delete them on expiration and Create new Keys using the Application Key Services.
