Continuous Alert Trigger for OOTB Alert Function

Continuous Alert Trigger for OOTB Alert Function

Currently the alert function only triggers once when the threshold is exceeded and will only trigger another time when the alert is reset. We suggest to implement continuous alert trigger into OOTB alert function to gives users more options of alert triggering.

In Alarm handling you can classify an alarm as "latched" or "unlatched". A fire alarm is a great example of a latched alarm, once the alarm is triggered, someone needs to reset the alarm. On the flip side, unlatched alarms clear themselves, when they return to a level inside the "normal" operating range. We are planning to support both of these alarm types and could. potentially institute a "runaway" feature. Runway alarms are unlatched alarms that oscillate in and out of alarm at a very high rate. A runaway feature will temporarily clamp the alarm traffic, thus stopping the process of creating and clearing alarms.
