Export to PDF/Excel for ThingWorx Mashups

Add the option to export to PDF/Excel. This is 2021 every one expects to be able to export to to PDF and Excel. Mashups should be exportable to PDF formats and tables should be exportable to Excel .xslx not just .csv.

I am absolutely agreeing, but I also wanted to point out this one might help as a workaround:

I still think this should be built-in capability.

Rocko, the data export is to "csv" and I have users that aren't savvy enough to realize that Excel will open the file.

Not sure how you got that impression, the export button has a dropdown. For Excel, select "Excel".

Rocko, what version are using? We are using 9.0.8 and the export only exports to CSV or CSV formatted for Excel. I tried the version formatted for Excel and it was garbage. Are you using a third party add-in for export? It is my understanding that previous versions of ThingWorx supported CSV, Excel, and PDF but that is no longer the case.

I am using 9.2.something and the Data Export Extension I mentioned in my first post. This will come with an export button widget.

but UNFORTUNATELY no plan to implement ... incredible a so nice feature is not available ....

 

native export to CSV is a good enouth for me... Excel will import it automatically with a doubleclick, moreover it writ ethe file with the right field separator automatically, based on the language of the user.
