In 8.5.5 the when the user tries to import an extension they will receive the message "Extension Exception" when importEnabled is set to false.   Since ImportEnable is off by default, this issues occurs frequently causing a great deal of confusion. Instead if the message in the log explained the reason that the extension was not loaded, the user will know how to quickly and easily resolve the issue.  We ran into this with a customer which caused a great deal of frustration hense this request.
