Improve Project>Entities page

Improve Project>Entities page

Looking at a project, the Entities page allows assigning Entities to the project.

This page needs improvement:

1) the column titles are disappearing when scrolling, they should be static.

2) the left side shows ALL entities, including ones that are already assigned to a project. So this is naturally a large list. Unfortunately, the filter does not allow to show only those entities, that need a project assignment the most: a) the ones without a project and b) the ones with a non-existing project (those can come in by import from another system). The request is to add filtering so I can see only the entities with no or an invalid project.

Thanks for submitting this idea!

Regarding #2, since ThingWorx 9.1 Projects are mandatory for all entities (except some system entities). As a result, all unassigned entities belong to a common project called "PTCDefaultProject". One could filter by this project to see all entities that need to be assigned. Filter options include filtering by 'projects' & 'project type', by 'types of entities', and by 'tags'.

Having said that, other points are still valid - noted for improvements.

Hi Ankit, most of the entities belonging to extensions will also go to PTCDefaultProject, as there was usually no project assigned when they were created. So the list is still huge, until all used extensions get updated with projects. But then, you can't assign projects to extension entities because they are usually read only.

While you're technically correct, the new situation in 9.1+ is only marginally better as own and extension entities are thrown into the same bucket.

(What really makes a difference is that it's now very easy to select a standard project for entities,  so new systems suffer much less from this)
