When there is a Signals job running, the selected row is lost when the auto-reload hits, and the user has no control over it. The effect is that the details of a selected signal is only visible as long as there is no reload (which seems to be ca 10-15 seconds).
For signals, where the loading of the data takes longer, it's not possible to view the data at all.
Also (this is true for signals, profiles, models and datasets), when you create a new object with a job already running and you have the create dialog open, the auto-reload in the background window has the effect that any dropdown you have open in the dialog is closed. This makes it hard to select a value from any larger set, because reload might hit before the list is loaded of before you have navigated to the right position to select a value.
The idea is to preserve the selected row and not have reload influence the dialog
