The process for installing Thingworx is very manual at the moment and can take a long time (depending on your experience), can this process be automated or simplified, maybe create an installation wizard to manage most of the underlying config?

 

I went wrong somewhere in the installation and have wasted days with PTC support just trying to fix it so I can actually start using the platform. I hope using the platform is a better experience but the installation process could definitely be improved for a multi-million pound platform.

Can we re-open this? Installation on Windows is ok but linux installation is still a lot harder than it needs to be (the documented procedure is ~100 pages and very error-prone)

 

Can we please have a linux installer that uses package managers (e.g. apt on Ubuntu) so that installing TW and it's prerequisites is one line at the command prompt. This one change would hugely simplify installation on linux, docker and kubernetes in one shot.

 

Alternately if you could create official PTC docker images this would simplify installation and upgrading.
