While PTC promotes ThingWorx Navigate as the single App to search entire PLM data, it only is an added advantage for the Navigate to use Windchill Content search feature and enable Navigate users to search for Indexed PLM data. Without this feature, users have to switch between Navigate and Windchill UI and at some point, this may result in losing interest in Navigate and go back to using traditional Windchill UI for accessing PLM data.

If you use the search tailoring feature of Navigate, as the Administrator, and set Navigate to use a saved Windchill search instead of the default search, it will use full text index searching.
