Has anyone ever successfully used navigate's reusable components ?
I know there are in beta, and not a lot of documentations is avaible. I tried to use the identity widget, but so far, it's an epic fail
While I have never tried to use the new reusable components in Navigate, I found an extensive section about their configuration in the Customizing ThingWorx Navigate (8.5) Guide at https://www.ptc.com/support/-/media/958E561B12A943E08F3B61E75696A85C.pdf?sc_lang=en , beginning on page 24. It looks like some, if not all, of this information is also in the Navigate Help Center at http://support.ptc.com/help/navigate/r8.5/en/#page/ThingWorx_Navigate%2FReusable_Components_Overview... .
Well I've seen these docs, my big issue is to find what needs to be done in the Things/services to feed the components...
Not so much time to dig deeper, maybe I'll wait for navigate 8.6
R&D has informed me we are planning to provide more comprehensive documentation in the Navigate 9.0 release (the next release; what you assumed would be Navigate 8.6).
I did some research on those new beta components and for the Item Identity Widget it only works with
Am I right?
According to the Navigate Help Center at
Task Identity is the only predefined configuration available for the Item Identity reusable component. No mention of other entities.
The updated documentation is due to be released in late June or July, and should contain more information.
Actually i was able to use it with Problem Reports by properly extending OOTB Thing Templates and with ad-hoc custom JSON Configurations. Those new components are quite powerful. Do you know if starting from Navigate 6 it will be possibile to use new Item List mashup for attachments of other soft types (currently works only for Change Request)
Navigate 9.0 will be released late June or July, and we should be able to find more documentation with that release. Until then I don't have a reference to go to for it.
Navigate 9.0 has been released and is available for download here.
