This is from the PTC Product Calendar on ptc.com:

Instructor-led classes and web-based, eLearning libraries for the Creo Elements/Direct products are available through PTC and its partners, but you will need to ask for them.

If you join the Technical Committees, you get more advance information on directions things are going and plans (1-2 revisions in the future).

You also get heard.  Good rewards for some of your time.

After speaking to some people on the PTC event in Stuttgart my perception is that Creo Elements/Direct will be supported for a very long time.

When you look at the Creo product line, it's easy to guess that PTC sees a larger role for Creo/Direct and a smaller role for Creo Elements/Direct in the future, but because of the completeness of the Creo Elements/Direct product (handling extremely large assemblies, Sheet Metal, 2D drawings, Advanced Assembly, Configurations, etc., etc.) it will take years to get Creo/Direct to the same level.

My hope is that when they get everything out of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling that they can, that it gets sold off.  Creo Direct cannot use the lisp programs that we have created, and we have dozens.

Creo Element\Direct Modeling 20.6.0.0.0

good point... I have made hundreds of Lisps over the years 🙂

Take some time to get your head around Lisp, but it's wonderful how deep you can get under the hood.

Some Lisps Save us lots and lots of time.

From the recent Technical Committee meeting held in January the Creo Elements Direct version 20.0 will most likely be released in November of 2016, a more solid date will be known when the June Technical Committee meetings are held.

There are no long terms plans to stop developing, supporting or training the Creo Elements Direct Modeling and Drafting applications by PTC.

Creo Direct is not going to be a replacement for Creo Elements Direct it is going to continue on its own development course to bring direct modeling capabilities to the Creo (Parametric) environment close tied in with the Flexible Modeling Extension that is now available in Creo (Parametric).

Training is continuing to be provided by PTC either through classes or the eLearning University Online tools, one can also get training from vendors such as CADM.

Hope this helps you out a little more.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Thom
