The following configuration parameters are available in the Vuforia Expert Capture product settings: Force Reauthentication in Vantage Mobile and RealWear App
The information reads:
"Force Vantage mobile and RealWear app users to reauthenticate after a device has been inactive for a specified amount of time. Users will also be prompted to sign in again the next time they launch the app. This value specifies the duration (minutes) of inactivity needed before signing users out of Vantage and requiring reauthentication; when set to 0, the setting is disabled, and users will not be signed out automatically."
But now I realize that I have to log in again in Vantage App on iPadOS and iOS after a longer period of inactivity of e.g. 5 days. I have not yet been able to determine an exact period of time.
Why is that?
Hi @pjahn
Thank you for your question.
Your post appears well documented but has not yet received any response. I am replying to raise awareness. Hopefully, another community member will be able to help.
Also, feel free to add any additional information you think might be relevant.
Best regards,
Thank you. Actually I think a PTC developer/cloud architect/... should be able to provide some information on this issue. During a recent customer meeting I was told that this issue also happens on their devices/their VEC tenant. This becomes quite annoying on devices used by several people on the shop floor with device licensing. After a certain time of inactivity the users need to reauthenticate again and ask for the password. However, these employees should not know the password so it is entered by someone from the IT department.
Hi all,
here at GDELS-Steyr we are also using Vuforia Expert Capture on tablets with the Vantage App in the workshop.
And I can confirm that users must log in after an unspecific time period. And in the workshop we are using device licensing and so its not easy for all the users in the workshop knowing the login data.
So it would be realy helpful to suppress these reauthentifications.
Thanks
Best regards
Mario
@Catalina I think your post did not raise awareness. Maybe someone from the VEC product team could answer this question.
