How 3D Models from Onshape could be incorporate in the experience

I have a vision to use the latest 3D Model for the Training purposes.

How the Model and BOM could be used in Vuforia Studio?

Do you have any examples that you can share?

Best Regards

Hello,

I don't have many knowledge in OnShape.

In documentation, we can find this help page who explains the format supported to export a 3D Model :

https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/exporting-files.htm?tocpath=Importing%20%26%20Exporting%20Files%7C_____3

In Vuforia Studio, we file format for 3D Models are supported :

http://support.ptc.com/help/vuforia/studio/en/#page/Studio_Help_Center%2FSupportedCADFileFormats.html%23

Obj, iges and STL are common to both software.

Please use one of them.

Now, in Vuforia Studio when importing a 3D Model, we can also imports metadata:

http://support.ptc.com/help/vuforia/studio/en/#page/Studio_Help_Center%2Fcad_metadata_api.html%23

Here a video about how to use this metadata file in an Experience in Vuforia Studio:

https://community.ptc.com/t5/Vuforia-Studio/Vuforia-Studio-introduction-to-MetaData-Video/m-p/695630

More details about Javascript API to create custom behavior with it :

http://support.ptc.com/help/vuforia/studio/en/#page/Studio_Help_Center%2Fcad_metadata_api.html%23

Also, more details about previous possibility to do that in this post :
