Hello PTC developers teams.
I trying area target function in vuforia studio.
I want to alignment CAD pillar to point cloud pillar.
Would you tell me best practice?
Best regards.

Hi @T.Nakamura ,
some links to area targets PTC help
http://support.ptc.com/help/vuforia/studio/en/#page/Studio_Help_Center%2FWidgetAreaTarget.html
From there you can find some further sub links which acctually will describe the usage of this widget.
Possibly - I hope that some one form dev team will answer. While there is no answer from developer team I want to share my experience with this widget:
- When you create an area target according to https://library.vuforia.com/area-targets/best-practices-scanning-environment
You can load it then in the Studio Area Widget. In development UI you will see the position of all elements . When you e.g. also know the dimensions of the scanned area it should be similar the same as the real dimensions ( only we can expect some deviation because some scanning inaccuracy)
Because , current with the Area Target widget we do not have any properties to set the position of it - then the position to the world coordinate's is depending on the scanning process and currently is no possible that we can change it. So when we load an model widget at 0,0,0 we can see the relation between the Area scan and the world coordinate in studio. Therefore I think we can try to align the model manually when we move the 3D items it in the UI and compare with the display with the area scan . So this will be not exact but remember that the scan has also some deviation.
When you think that your area target scan is exact e.g. you used- Matterport Pro2 scanner and the Leica scanners. or NavVis scanners and the Leica RTC360.
Then in studio UI you can use a model Widget which is small ball and move first to 0,0,0 and then to other significant points of your environment /which represent by the AT scan. So you could find some real coordinates (those what you know form measurement of the real enviroment) and what are the corresponding to them studio coordinates. Then you can make you own calculation to map the Studio coordinates and the room coordinates.
Hi , @RolandRaytchev
Thank you for your information !
I understood scanning inaccuracy e.g. iPad LiDAR or 3D scanner like a Lica.
We have been use these scanner.
Small ball idea that a great idea !
I will try it.
I hope that Studio and View will be able to measure CAD to some widget(Model,Point cloud).
