I can see .wrl is a supported CAD file format.
Are VRML animations supported in Vuforia Studio and can I control where in the animation sequence I want to be?
Thanks

Hello Steffen,
As far I know, only Sequences created in Creo Illustrate are supported.
More details in this another thread :
In Help Center, only Sequence list is available in Model 3D widget to play animations :
http://support.ptc.com/help/vuforia/studio/en/#page/Studio_Help_Center%2FWidget3DModel.html%23
This field supports only .pvi file (who is the file format of a Sequence) created in Creo Illustrate and exported in the pvz file.
Best regards,
Samuel

Hi @SteffenAu2mate,
I do not think that the VRML animations and interaction will currently work. The VRML (*wrl) geometry is transferred rather without any problems.
So far I know the preview mode implementation is based on three.js and when I check the examples there is no vrml example with interaction or animation on it. In the mentioned three examples we can see different kind of very complex animations based on the WebGl functionality but I could not found any examples which is based on VRML animations. Historically all modern formats containing animations and interactions are related with the VRML format and are development based on tis format and therefore all viewer could read this format pretty good. Different is the question with animations and user interactions. I tested some *.wrl files containing animation or interactions but I did not have success to import the animation to different 3d tools /blender , Studio, Creo View and Google 3DView. The import the geometry itself as mention above was no problem but no animations are after import available.
When you import any geometry file format the Studio, it will convert the files to pvz format and I think it will remove all information which is not related to the geometry e.g. animations or interactions
Currently as mention already by @sdidier
- only animations based on *pvi files are supported as part of the pvz format. / the pvz format is actually a zip file format renamed to pvz. The *.pvz file contains the geometry of the objects (components), of the assembly and the sequences files *.pvz for the animations
It is also possible to implement some animation using via JavaScript in Studio and this require more deep knowledge for the Studio programming environment.
Thanks for the detailed explanation.
I was trying to find a workaround for the current limitation that the height of a 3D image can not be changed dynamically. Currently, exchanging the image source seems to be the only solution. I hope PTC is addressing this limitation. Cheers
