Using a GIF in Vuforia Studio Experience

I was able to load a GIF into Vuforia Studio, however, when in preview, the GIF does not play.  is it possible for a GIF to run in V Studio?  if so, is there any background script needed?

I apologize for not researching further.. there was a post "how to add GIF use?" 07-05-2018 that discusses this.  I am still having some issues getting the GIF to play, but this states it can be done

@dmforbes You can refer existing similar post for GIF usage details

I am able to get them to work. like many post state, in the 2D mode, not the 3D

@dmforbes  That is how it works at the moment with limitation on 2D usage only.
