Vuforia Studio Installation.

I have received a commercial license of Vuforia Studio.
Installed it according to the installation Guide.

Received also URL's for a development side and a production site

incl. passwords and login.

Question 1:
What is the idea behind a development site and a production site?
Can anyone explain the intended process?

Question 2:

How to access these portals?
I have entered one URL in the settings tab of studio but can not logon.
Login these portals via a browser is also not possible.
Can anyone help me with the startup?

many thanks.

Bert

@bbusschers Development instance is one which you can use and build initial experiences before actually been used by end users. Once the AR experience is finalized it can be published to Production instance where end users having right access & permission can view these experience using PROD environment.  There are other differences between DEV vs PROD from server provisioning ( hardware capacity & CPU's) configuration wise which end user generally do not have to bother about.

Generally, the URL are named for DEV and PROD commercial instances as

***Experience Service (ES) URL*****

https://<YourInstanceName>-dev.es.thingworx.com/ExpereinceService
https://<YourInstanceName>-prod.es.thingworx.com/ExpereinceService

***ThingWorx (TWX) URL ***

https://<YourInstanceName>-dev-twx.es.thingworx.com/Thingworx/
https://<YourInstanceName>-prod-twx.es.thingworx.com/Thingworx/

Note: You can login to these URL with the shared Administrator account by provisioning team.

You need ES URL to publish your project and it is also mandatory to put in your Project configuration setting inside Studio application.  Please refer to attachment for details.

From the second URL, you can review the ThingWorx entities and data related stuff using TWX URL.

Hope it helps.

Hello Durgesh,

Thanks for the reply.

The difference between development and production is clear to me.

But as you also explained I have 2 instances for development and production called:

***Experience Service (ES) URL*****

***ThingWorx (TWX) URL ***

What is the difference between the two of them?
It looks like Thingworx studio has to be conneted to the Thingworx URL?

Is the process as follows:
Starting Studio, go to Settings and add the TWX URL development.
I have received an administrator account, which I can use to upload?
How can I manage the different user accounts?

I am missing an explaination how the process is going end how to manage it.
It not part of the installation guide. 😞

Thanks in advance.

regards,

Bert

@bbusschers One URL is for Studio Experience Service where AR project are published and stored. Second URL is for ThingWorx instance which is used for user authentication and required for Studio ES installation & provisioning. So, the Thingworx studio has to be connected to the Thingworx URL.

Your understanding is correct however ES URL needs to be updated in Studio. Starting Studio, go to Settings and add the Experience Service (ES) URL development.

You can use the Administrative account to upload your studio projects. You can refer to our knowledge base articles to learn more about Studio.

Hope it helps.
