To save your current avatar, follow these steps:
1. Right-click on your avatar on the profile screen.
2. Save the file under an identifiable name (anything but "number(i.e.1).png") and in the location of your choice on your computer device.
Now the avatar is saved on your computer for future use.
To choose a new avatar follow these steps:
1. Go to My Profile >My Settings>Avatar and select "Upload Avatar."
You may now upload a file from your computer to use as your avatar.
2. Select "From My Computer" and "Browse."
Other options for avatars are to use something from your album, another website, or "From the Community" which gives you access to the current avatar library.
After January 8th, this will be the new community avatar library you have available to use.
And your existing avatar (if from the avatar library previous to January 8th) will be changed to one of these automatically.
