Version: Windchill 12.0
Use Case: Windchill offers the following groups "Type Administrators" and "Attribute Administrators". What I would like to do is setup an employee who can edit types and attributes, without granting them complete Site Administrator permissions. Someone that can add a selection to the Legal Value Constraint of an attribute on the object.
Description:
For testing I setup a user with the type two groups, an advance license and the PTC Windchill Administrator profile and I have the following problems.
1) They never see the Site icon selection
2) I set the user as a Product Manager and get to Utilities, but it is a sub list of the utilities that does not include Type and Attribute Administration selection.
3) If I try to access the URL to the Site Utilities page I get a 403 error ",..do not have permission to access thi s page."
4) I removed the Advance License since I have the profile, but no change.
5) I can access the Type and Attribute Administration page directly with the URL, and I can edit Manage Global Enumerations, create / edit new Reusable Attributes,
6) I cannot edit any object types. I only get New Subtype in the actions list, and I get an error telling I am not allow to create one if I try.
Is there a setting I am missing?
I think this is a current limitation with this version. If you look in version 13 what's new, this is specifically addressed. I do not think you can allow access to Type Administrator without also giving them full admin and visibility to the Site pages.
