Ability to Edit, Rename and Delete Filter in PSB by Site and Org Administrators

Ability to Edit, Rename and Delete Filter in PSB by Site and Org Administrators

In PSB and other areas where Filters are application, it should be possible for a Site or Org Administrator to:

  • Edit existing Filter definition
  • Rename an existing Filter
  • Delete an existing Filter created by other users

Business cases:

  • When a Filter is shared to users and if there is a need to change that, there is dependency on the person who had created the filter.  Otherwise, a duplicate Filter should be created for this need.
  • When a Filter is used in many Distribution Target definitions in ESI publishing setup, if the filter needs to be modified, there is dependency on the person who had created the filter.  If a new filter to be created then it needs to be updated in all the Distribution Targets definitions.
  • There could be more other business cases as well

Thanks,

Prabhakaran Varadharajan.

I would agree, but it should be something like searching for other's checked-out work.

As an admin, I wouldn't want everyone's filters in my lists.

Also, if a user makes a particular good filter (structure or table view), it would be nice for an Admin to be able to elevate the filter to be shared.

This is really a lack of basic admin functionality. PTC should really concider to fix this in future releases.

This feature would be great. A good solution to avoid unwanted filter and clean list of saved filter.

When updating from Windchill 11.x to Windchill 12.x, the self-created SiteAdmin often switches to a new user from the AD.
Although it is in fact the same person, this person can no longer delete /rename their own filters after the update because the old admin from the Windchill directory is no longer valid.
