Add a drop-down list for context name attribute at the Criteria section of a query builder report.

Add a drop-down list for context name attribute at the Criteria section of a query builder report.

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
Software developer

2. What version of Windchill are you currently running?
Windchill PDMLink M020-CPS15

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.

When running a query builder report based on Global Change Request, we would like to have the possibility to apply a criteria based on the name of the container. The criteria should be a drop-down list with all the containers. When trying to add a column with the Context(containerName) attribute from Global Change Request using the "Reportable Item" action, the container name is set as an object and it cannot be used as a criteria for generation the report.

4. What is the use case for your organization?
It would be useful to have this idea implemented for generation of a more categorized report.

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
The system will be more user-friendly and give the users the possibility to visualize only the entries that they are interested in.

You can get the context information, in a filterable way, by linking the relevant table with that of ECR or ECN (see attached image)

@MC_10165784 : It appears that @Marco_Tosin  points to a workaround. Please let us know if it works for you.

Thank you for the response.

I tried to do this:

but a textbox appears, not a drop-down:

Is there any possibility to have a drop-down like this?

Short answer: NO.

What I wrote above is just a workaround to have the context attribute usable as a filter

Thank you for your message.

We managed to filter with a text box but what we are trying to have it's a drop down list with all existing Contexts so the user can select it and not type it.
