When adding participants to a discussion only direct team-members of the context are eligible to select.
In case you set up your team with groups, but you need to involve only a sub-group or members to a discussion, the discussion functionality is hardly usable or not usable at all.
When it would be possible to select participants with the 'normal' Add Participants wizard, it would significantly enhance the discussion functionality.
