| FMD-2013 is the third sequel in a series of Reliability Information Analysis Center (RIAC) databooks that contain Failure Mode and Mechanism Distribution data. It updates the 1997 Edition of the databook, providing an expanded compendium of failure mode/mechanism data for electronic, electromechanical and mechanical parts, components and assemblies. Knowledge of part failure trends is necessary to successfully perform many types of reliability analyses such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Quantification of the relative probability of occurrence for each potential failure mode (failure mode distribution) for a given part type is essential for the performance of a Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). |
