Add the ability for Promotion Request participants to be pre-selected but editable by the Promotion Request creator

Add the ability for Promotion Request participants to be pre-selected but editable by the Promotion Request creator

The "About Promotion Process Preferences" topic in the Windchill Help Center states the following regarding the Fixed Roles For Promote preference:

Participant roles are automatically selected for the corresponding workflow process roles which are mapped using this preference. By default, if the participant role matches the workflow process role, it is automatically selected. You can use this preference to change the mapping of the workflow process role to a different participant role. When a participant role is automatically selected as a fixed role, the participant role may not be deselected by the user creating the promotion request.

Enhance Windchill PDMLink to allow for the pre-selection of participants for a Promotion Request (e.g. through Object Initialization Rules) and the ability for the Promotion Request creator to be able to deselect participants in order to target particular users to be Reviewers/Approvers/etc.

This functionality is available today for Change Tasks according to the "Configuring the Participant List" topic in the Windchill Help Center.

A workaround available today (with 10.2 M030) is to utilize Roles in Resource Pool mapping.  In this you will map a set of Roles from your Container team to your Workflow process Roles - but not with the same name.  You would also remove anything from the "Fixed Roles for Promote".

In this case configuration you will not have Pre-selection for any Roles configured this way (you can mix pre-selected (but not changeable) and un-selected (and changeable) if you wish by having the Role names match for the Pre-Selected).  See the following picture for an example of the Role Names not matching.promotion participant example.png

Hi Jeff, does this apply to the Change objects also?  Change Request, Change Notice, Variances etc?  It seems counter intuitive to have to deselect the users you don't won't to get the task.  Thanks
