Advanced Search vs object states

Advanced Search vs object states

Hello,

when trying to search some kind of objects WCH always offering all states available from whole database. There is no chance to filter logic states only. For example I have a change notice object with 6 valid states but WCH showing more than 150 states during search. It is confusing and blind solution for most of the users...

Petr - this is something we have looked at in the past, but the solution is not quite as simple.  In your example - Change Notice - there might be several child Change Notice types with different lifecycles and different states.  Further, historically the lifecycles could have changed over time with even more states.  What that means is that the page would have to dynamically calculate the state list. (and any performance hit for that)

This would be an area of interest for the future, but it is not a simple, trivial project.

Think no prob to see all possible/historical states regarding object type "change notice". Even if some states not available anymore (LC changed) still better than 100+ states with absolutely no point to change notice object. At least it would be a compromise solution 😉

Similar idea here: From the Advanced Search panel, set criteria "State" to displays only Object related lifecycle state

Same suggestion:

It actually is possible to limit what is displayed in this list by disabling states in the resource bundle.  Keep in mind that this will impact the entire system.

Granted, it's not as nice as only showing the object specific states, but it should help whittle the list down to something more manageable.

Tom Uminn‌ - good catch.  Thank you.  I will close this as a duplicate.

Please refer to idea:

From the Advanced Search panel, set criteria "State" to displays only Object related lifecycle state
