Affected objects auto-update

Affected objects auto-update

Allow auto-update of any affected object included in change notice task or at least add an option for manual update.

Very often object like WTP or process plan stays outdated meanwhile somebody else revised it. Then I have to remove it and replace manually by the latest version = wasting of time. Would be great to auto update it or add some button like "Replace for latest" etc.

Peter,

To ask some clarification - when you do a change it is against the revision.  In your example if you have 3714-7301 at 01.1 on the change and it is iterated to 01.2 the change automatically shows the latest iteration for the revision.

I think what you are asking is that if a user puts 01.1 on a change, but in the interim another user has revised it to 02.1 they want to know that a newer Revision exists and have an easy way to switch the revision on the change.  Is that correct?

Yes, we just need to know 01.1 is outdated no matter if revised or iterated only. A button for "check & replace for latest" is desired.

Petr,

The Affected and Resulting links also refresh automatically to give you the latest iteration for the selected Revision.

Can you describe the use case where you need a newer revision than the one that is on the change please?

Very often when 2 change tasks are created at the same time and in affected objects is let's say 01.1 version for both.

When first change task is finished then new revision (let's say 02.5) exists. Now it is the time to run second change task but after you look into the second change task there is still 01.1 because this task is not refreshed automatically. That is why asking for a manual function or outdated icon symbol. Experienced in M020 and M030 as well.

Also wanna notice would be great to see outdated data highlighted by red color or at least by some kind of "outdated status icon".

The most common issue nowadays is when designer trying to do do mass change and collecting data. Very often he collects outdated data as well because some of them related from history. Nevertheless designer is unable to revise them (which is correct) but he will realize this issue when revise failed so too late. That is why he needs to see outdated data immediately and handle them before revise started.

Petr Pöschl‌ - I assume you mean when a newer revision exists as Affected Data is always at the latest iteration of the Revision selected?

Iteration is always autoupdated so it is OK but revision isn't and stays outdated often so that is our problem. We want to see that revison is outdated (red color/strikethrough etc.) and easily update it for the latest one (via command/icon/auto).

Hello I would like to add example,

Customer has customization which could be OOTB function.

If newer revision exist the name is red. If the new revision is in the resulting table the name is normal.

New custom button is added to the table to update to latest Revision.

Example video is attached.
