Allow Family Table Values To Display In Native Units

Allow Family Table Values To Display In Native Units

Currently Windchill stores all family table data in Windchill in Meters and Radians.  From CS110253:

This is very confusing for the users who expect to see the values in Windchill agree with the values in Creo:

Creo

Windchill

Please add the ability to either:

  • automatically display the values in Windchill in the same units as they were stored in the model
  • allow a site or user preference to determine what units are used for the display of all family table values

Has PTC looked at resolving this issue yet? Doesn't seem a big ask to show dimensions on Windchill as they are shown in Creo - surely just another string value to pull across!!!

Still "working to spec" in 11.0m30. We would really want this to be something configurable for companies that don't find this conversion relevant to their engineers.

We have the same issue with ours models in millimeters in Creo 4.0 and in meters in Windchill.

Please add a fix to the next release.Creo - Windchill FamilyTable Units.jpg

It still amazes me that this is not configurable.

5 years and nothing happened even in WCH 11.1 M020 so it must be a superhard puzzle for PTC...

I don't think this is a high priority for anyone at PTC.  I doubt it has enough votes to even be under consideration yet.

This is a huge burden and needs to be fixed, users are going to start flocking to Teamcenter and NX if PTC keeps ignoring this issue.

Windchill 12.0.2.0 and the issue is still there.

It's unbelievable that a feature like this hasn't been resolved yet !!

Fixing this issue will not drive new sales of Windchill until a new customer with a potential 1000+ seat order discovers this issue and demands PTC fix it.

Existing users are at the mercy of PTC to fix issues. PTC is only driven by major advances in technology or a new customer requirement. New advances in technology may not always be in the best interest of existing customers.

I agree with you. Unfortunately !!
A simple issue that could be resolved easily!!
