Allow merging of deleted instances into family table generic for SolidWorks

Currently it is not possible to merge a standalone part as an instance of an existing family table for SolidWorks-WGM interaction. For Creo this is not a problem.

The reason for having the ability to merge a standalone part into a a family table these part might be accidentally converted into a standalone part or due to incompatible family table issue, this allow user or windchill admin to "fix" the problem.

This has been solved (at least in WC 11)

Let's go for the worst case:

An instance has been deleted from a family and you are wanting to add it back.

1) Save a file under the instance number

2) You will get a conflict. Update and re-use/keep the file in your workspace

3) Check In

4) Open generic of family that you are wanting to re-add instance. Create configuration with same number as the instance checked in of step 3, ensure PTC_IS_INSTANCE=Yes. Save, but DO NOT CHECK OUT.

5) You will get a conflict. Update and re-use/keep the file in your workspace.

6) YOU MUST NOW UPLOAD THE FAMILY TABLE.

7) Check out family table.

😎 Check In family table.
