In Windchill BOM strcture page, the reference designator is automatically sorted and combined by the system. For example, when we input R1, R2, R3, Windchill will automatically changes it into R1-R3, which is nice. Howevver when we use the export the importable spreedsheet function to export the BOM excel file, the content in reference designator is randomly placed, for example, it gives us R1, R3, R2. So for small amount of reference designator, we can handle. But when we have a reference designator that contains something like R1-R200, L5-L30, then it is really hard for us to locate the exact reference designator that we want to change because the content in the excel file is huge.
So we would like to submit an idea that allows Windchill to sort and combine reference designator in the export BOM excel file just like it did in the BOM strcture page. Thanks!
