On receipt and upload of a translation package, if there are no errors, the translated media should be set to Production life cycle and automatically published to PDF. For example, if 3 languages were submitted and 2 translated imported successfully, the translated media should be automatically published to PDF. Media that failed should be held back for review.

Suggestion that this needs to be generalized.  Successful translations should be submitted for publishing, it may or may not be PDF.  The business's rules for publishing should take effect.  This would include automating PxTAL for delivery to InService.  Automating delivery to a third party delivery system (e.g. SISWeb) is not something I agree should be a priority for R&D effort under this request.

We agree that automated publishing when a translation package is imported is a valuable feature.  However, we believe that each customer will have specific business logic regarding output formats and content review requirements.  Beginning in the 11.0 M010 version of SIM, it is possible for PTC Global Services to implement this capability so that it is tailored to the relevant business requirements.

As mentioned by Patti , we needed to keep this out of the box feature general since other customers might not want to have PDF publishing kicking in. Global Services will take care of adding the necessary logic to have this workflow.

In April 2016 we confirmed with PTC GS (Sirko) that the Athens release contains what is needed to implement this as a customization.  As far as I know the specific details have not been spec'd out yet.

Closing this idea since it would not be a product change.
