Automatic BOM reconfiguration

Hello,

I think we have all at least used a Sat Nav (be it integrated in the car or as an app on a smartphone) and loved when the Sat Nav says something along the line.

Congestion ahead, new route calculated, you saved 20min.

Would it not be nice when our PLM system automatically make suggestion to a designer that there are better components to use for his design. ?

PLM could say something along the line

There are better components for your BOM configuration, New BOM configuration calculated, you saved 50 000€ in your next production run.

I appreciate that there are tools in place to help such as Windchill Analytic but it is far to be as smooth as what we experience with navigation systems.

Come on PTC, you can do it

Oh I like your idea! Even if it's still a vision... There are also some other areas where a better user experience is necessary. e.g. Changes, geometry scans, etc....
